AddictionLink info
AddictionLink is meant for all those who are interested in issues relating to alcohol, drugs and addictions, i.e. for experts and students as well as for alcohol or drug abusers and their relatives. This service is provided by the A-Clinic Foundation.
The editor-in-chief of AddictionLink is Teuvo Peltoniemi. The production team consists of a large group of experts. The sponsors of AddictionLink include the EU, RAY (Finland's Slot Machine Association), the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and the Finnish Centre for Health Promotion, among others.
AddictionLink is a founder member of the Prevnet Network, which is an EU network for telematic drug and alcohol prevention. Moreover, AddictionLink is the coordinating member for the portal http://www.apua.info/, whose members include more than 20 organisations in the health and social services sector.
Info bank: This contains short articles containing expert information on alcohol, drugs, addictions and their treatment. The articles have been divided into six groups:
- 100 I-line – Current and general information
- 200 A-line – Information on alcohol
- 300 D-line – Information on drugs and medicinal substances
- 400 B-line – Information on behavioural addictions
- 500 N-line – Information on nicotine
- 600 S-line – Information on services
There is also a FAQ section where you can read about the risks of using alcohol or drugs, and about situations in life that are linked to alcohol or drugs.
